About us

GenoGla Diagnostics is a recently created spin-off of the University of Algarve, Faro, Portugal.

GenoGla was first created to serve as a platform to commercially explore the newly developed products and technologies that are included in an international patent application (PCT/PT2009000046; U. S. Patent 61/136.315 filled in 27 August 2008) as well as to pursue research and explore new findings and patents originating from collaboration research contracts (e.g. on bone and cardiovascular health, skin care, cancer and diagnostics).

Aim

The aim of the company is the commercialization of the newly developed IP knowledge, products and technologies directly or via collaborations, joint ventures, royalties or research contracts.

Another goal of this company is to offer specialized services based both on our IP methods and tools and also on our own research in the area of Proteomics and Molecular Biology.

One important goal is to establish a diagnostic test based on circulating GRP, which is a patented system (PCT/PT2009000046). This assay could be used to monitor, among others, cardiovascular disease states, by following concentrations of specific biochemical markers in blood.

The IP tools and kits are also intended for use in biomedical research in the area of calcification related diseases that precludes its future use in diagnostics, prognostic and also for monitoring treatments.
